Assessor
The County Assessor appraises and assesses all real property generally between the 1st of January and the 31st of May. This includes vehicles, parcels of property, as well as the furniture, fixtures, equipment, and inventories of manufacturing companies.

Circuit Clerk
The Circuit Clerk & Recorder maintains a record of all proceedings of the civil, domestic relations, criminal and juvenile courts, as well as prepares their dockets and various orders. Further, the Circuit Clerk records all liens and real estate documents, and even is responsible for jury selection.

Circuit Judges
The Circuit Judges run in non-partisan elections and make up the Circuit Court, which serves all throughout the Arkansas Second Judicial Circuit, which covers the totality of NEA and serves as the area's court of general jurisdiction. Currently, the Circuit Court is made out of 12 Judges.

Collector
The County Tax Collector collects taxes related to property, real estate, special improvement district, levee, and business personal.

Coroner
The Coroner is charged with determining the cause of death of any persons within the County. Along with the investigative duties that come with such a charge, the Coroner's Office helps to make the next steps for a grieving family as easy as possible.

County Judge
The County Judge is the chief executive of county government, and to that end is the custodian of the county's property, accepts all grants, and operates the county's road system. Further, the Judge distributes the funds appropriated by the Quorum Court, and presides over the Quorum Court with a veto but no voting power. The Judge also appoints the members to all administrative and advisory boards in the county.
While the title Judge is mainly a leftover from when the position had significant judicial power, the County Judge still presides over the County Court, which has jurisdiction over certain taxes and assessment appeals.

County Clerk
The County Clerk is a position of varied responsibility, serving as the clerk for the Quorum Court and Equalization Board while also keeping record of the county's minister credentials, medical doctors and nurses certificates, incorporation's assumed name certificates, elected officials oaths and certificates, and certificates of appointment. Further, the Clerk oversees elections and voter registration, as well as issues the county's marriage licenses.

Sheriff
The County Sheriff maintains public peace and has custody of the county jail. To this end, the Sheriff is charged with the execution of summons; the enforcement of judgments, orders, injunctions, garnishments, attachments; and the making of arrests on warrants issued by the courts. The Sheriff also often prepares and assembles evidence for Prosecuting Attorney.

Surveyor
The County Surveyor locates boundaries of specific properties at the request of the Assessor, and establishes disputed property lines upon request of the county and/or circuit courts. Upon request, they also survey for Mississippi County residents and resolve land boundary disputes.

Treasurer
The County Treasurer oversees the administration of the county's funds as determined by the Quorum Court and as authorized by the County Judge, as well as the same for the county's school districts. Therefor, the County Treasurer receives the sales tax collections, property tax collections, grant funds, fees collected by other departments, and various other revenues.The Treasurer also pays the county government's employees and serves as the county's investment office.

Justices of the Peace
The people elect 11 Justices of the Peace, each representing a district, to serve as the legislative body of the county's government. They hold the power of the county's purse, creating the county's budget, as well as passing ordinances, levying taxes, and filling vacant county offices.
